"Indaba" is a Zulu word meaning a get-together or gathering. The Zulu elders and tribes people get together to discuss important matters, pass down folk lore and hold court.

Indaba, the store and web site, is a place to get together to appreciate Africa and the many wonderful arts. Indaba was founded in Miami, in South Florida in 1994.

Indaba celebrates ethnic art from many countries and cultures and in particular, Africa. We have an extensive and ever changing collection of unique artifacts and tribal art, baskets, textiles, contemporary handmade crafts and functional art.
